Specialist courses for Government Departments and Regional Development Agencies - Inward Investment Functions

A number of courses are available for Regional Development Agencies. These courses can be combined or modified to meet your training needs and can be delivered on site in the UK or overseas. The prime concept is a one day training session for induction of staff, training for foreign nationals, or refresher training for existing staff.

The course tutors each with over 20 years experience include

Jeffrey Simcox LLB ACMA DipM MCIM who has been a senior International Manager with the Welsh Development Agency in Asia and North America, and an Economic Development specialist with Teesside Development Corporation and Cleveland County Council. He has managed teams involved in significant investment projects in the UK including, LG, Samsung, International Rectifier, Sharp, Brother, Toyota, and Ford. Jeff had almost twenty years overseas development work directly involved in inward investment and overseas marketing.

Steve Courtney MBA has over 25 years experience in international business support and inward investment development with a UK Regional Development Agency. His key specialism is international trade support, having co-ordinated RDA One North East's initial international trade strategy, and led its Trade Missions operation. Initially part of the RDA, and subsequently as a stand-alone operation within the Business Link network, Steve developed a new model, Trade Missions North East, as a partnership between the key public and private sector stakeholders in the North East Region. He has successfully led over 80 trade delegations to over 25 different countries.

Steve has specialist knowledge of the European Union functionality and its Regional Policy programmes, of particular interest to RDAs.

Dr Alan Bell has been involved with advising international business on International trade and FDI location decisions for over 20 years and is professor of International Business development at a number of Universities worldwide - a proven trainer.
