Dr Alan Bell
Alan Bell holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and is a full Member of the Market Research Society.
He is a senior executive who has worked extensively in North America, the Pacific Rim, South East Asia, Europe and Australasia assisting entrepreneurs, small businesses, international companies and Governments with global strategy development, marketing and market research and small business and entrepreneur development. He is experienced in liaison with clients, contractors and operating functions in many industries and at all levels.
He has assisted many companies from a variety of sectors to develop new markets and through this work has developed a large network of contacts in the business communities of South East Asia, the Pacific Rim, Australasia and North America. He has also arranged and delivered international seminars and assisted with inward investment, investigating academically and as a practitioner the international development of SMEs', decision-making and power in business development and entrepreneurial activity on a worldwide scale.
He has been academically involved as Professor of International Business Strategy and Director of the M.B.A. programme at ESC Rennes and is visiting Professor of Business Strategy at ESC Rouen, both in France. He also has a role as adjunct Professor of Global Strategy and Marketing Director at the European University of Lefke where he also runs the MSc in European Management.
His research interests include entrepreneur characteristics, and decision-making and strategy development in international small business development. These interests have led to the growth of an innovative SME development scheme in association with the Canterbury Development Corporation (New Zealand) and small business development programmes worldwide.
He is currently assisting small businesses in the North East of England as a company doctor, and regularly carries out export market research and delivers training programmes in Finance, marketing, global market research and small business development to entrepreneurs, business managers and owners throughout the world.
